Fixture Plate Handling System (MMC-R)

Fixture Plate Handling System (MMC-R)

Maximum flexibility without the need for set-up time.

Agility and Productivity

The MMC-R system includes all the advantages of the linear pallet pool (MMC2) while providing additional flexibility with a robot vehicle and a unique fixture plate interface. The MMC-R also allows you to load machines even if they do not have the same pallet size and design. Since fixture plates, not pallets, are loaded in the machine, the MMC-R is able to service many machine platforms including horizontal, vertical, and 5-axis machines. In addition, third-party equipment such as a CMM or a part washer can also be integrated into this agile cell.

C&S Customer Testimonial

In this video see how C&S Machine uses their MMC-R system with MAS-A5 cell controller to machine both medical and aerospace parts on the DA300 5-axis platforms.

What are the Components and Configuration of the MMC-R?

The MMC-R is an automated material handling system that links Makino horizontal and vertical machining centers, inspection, part washing, pallet loaders and operators together. A robot transport mounted on a floor track unit transports material to and from machines with little, if any, operator intervention. This system accommodates 4- and 5-axis work in the same cell with multiple machine platforms.
