Makino 5-Axis Vertical Machining Centers

Makino’s line of 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center products is the most accurate machines available on the market. All Makino machines are designed to maximize thermal stability and eliminate cumulative errors commonly found in 5-axis machine applications.

Cumulative errors are caused by the stack-up of errors in each of the five axes of the machine. Furthermore, part accuracy is influenced by the size of the part and the distance of a part feature from center of the rotating axis. This is why Makino builds the most accurate rotary axes – in order to achieve the very best dynamic accuracy.

All Makino 5-axis machines include SGI.4 motion control technology. This key technology enables the machine to process tool path data faster and more accurately while producing the highest quality finish. This valuable technology will reduce cycle time for complex 5-axis applications and significantly reduce manual polishing and rework due to high quality finishes often required in aerospace and Die/Mold applications.

The newest product, the D500, incorporates all the key technologies plus larger work zone, easily up-gradable for automation, and ultra-high torque dual DD motors to maximize accuracy and rigidity of the rotating axes. A stand-alone machine can be up-graded to an Automatic Pallet Changer, MMC2 Pallet management system, and single point of control robot loading system.
